Which brand and model of compact Film Cameras would be highly recommendable?

I’m interested in purchasing a good compact Film Camera. I still like the results produced from film photography. Old school, I guess. Can I have some recommendations on compact film cameras? I have disposed off my old camera some time ago due to poor maintenance. Since there’s Yahoo Answers, I thought might as well get some suggestions before I decide. Thank you very much.

I’d not recommend a compact film camera. You can find great deals on film SLRs from Canon and Nikon on Craigslist, usually for less than $150. You’ll have the advantage of great optical quality, interchangeable lenses, and better speed and aperture control than a compact.
