Do SLR Cameras pixelate in low light like the non SLR ones?

I’m thinking of getting an Olympus E-volt SLR camera but my regular digital is great except for the low light pixelation. Will the Evolt be better at that?

Pixelation has to do with low resolution, not low light.

Shooting in low light at a high ISO causes noise, not pixelation.

And yes, the larger the sensor less noise is generated although the Olympus has one of the smaller of all the Dslr‘s

When researching the DSLR’s look at the Focal Length Multiplier. You will see that the Olympus has one of 2x, Canon’s 1x, 1.3x and 1.6x, Nikon 1x and 1.5x and the rest 1.5x. Generally the smaller the multiplier the less noise you can expect although Canon and Nikon have some seriously advanced analog to digital converters than others which further enhances the reduction of noise at high ISO’s.
